Welder (Full – Time)
- Schedule and Hours: Mornings Mon to Fri. 7am – 5pm
- Salary Range: Depending on welding tickets and experience ( $22 to $30 )
- Supplemental Pay: Overtime available
As a MiG welder fitter, you will be responsible for repairing and fabricating waste disposal equipment, you will engage in the proper and appropriate operation of welding equipment, to put together mechanical structures or parts and fill gaps, according to specifications and measurement.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Duties below include but are not limited to the following:
- Read, measure and interpret, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and other instructions to complete task.
- Perform MIG welding based projects including setting up components for welding according to specifications.
- Weld, repair and fabricate waste disposal equipment.
- Maintain and use of the right PPE to complete task.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces for flaws.
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Remove rough spots from welded surfaces, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
- Apply welding techniques, to complete task in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Must take safety procedures very seriously.
Working Conditions:
- Occasionally operate in tight environments with overhead hazards
- Outdoors environment facing all weather conditions.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- GED grade 12 or equivalent qualification required.
- A minimum of 1 year working experience in a similar role.
- Current and valid certification a plus
- Experience working in the waste industry is an asset
- Knowledge of waste industry practices and safety procedures is an asset
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to use a variety of welding equipment
- Ability to use electrical or manual tools such as saws, calipers etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Ability to lift above 50lbs
- Good time-management skills.
- Professional Certification is an asset.

Driver – Roll-Off (Full-time)
3 Shifts Available
Shift #1 – Afternoon shift – 1pm to 1am – Tuesday to Saturday
Shift #2 – Afternoon shift – 1pm to 1am – Sunday to Thursday
Shift #3 – Day shift – 5pm to 5am – Monday to Friday
- Salary Range: Starts $30.50/hour
- Supplemental Pay: Overtime available. $1/hour safety driving bonus (after 3-month probation)
Duties and Responsibilities
The Duties below include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform daily pre & post-trip inspections of assigned equipment. Document condition and submit the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR)
- Responsible to prepare, load & transport large open-top waste and compactor containers to customer, disposal & transfer locations utilizing a company owned roll-off vehicle
- Safely operate vehicle in accordance with U-Pak rules, Ministry of Transportation requirements on commercial designated routes adhering to Occupational Health & Safety regulations and all local, provincial and federal laws at all times
- Clean-up loose trash off truck and/or ground around truck and container that spills during dumping process to maintain clean customer site and safety along roads and highways
- Clear waste from the packer blade and truck body on each landfill or transfer station run to ensure safe & productive equipment operation
- Partner with Dispatch & Route Supervisor to improve efficiencies, provide excellent customer service, identify unsafe situations or improvement opportunities & follow best practices
- Participate in scheduled training, briefings and meetings required by U-Pak or supervisors
- Utilize on-board electronic ticket system (FleetMind) to follow workflow, record work completion and service interruptions such as breakdowns or blocked bins
- Notify Route Supervisor immediately of any incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage
- Courteously interact with customers, co-workers and the public throughout the day
- Maintain and submit daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report (DVIR)
- Perform all duties as scheduled by the Route Supervisor or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer requirements

- Clean DVOR driver abstract over past 24 month period
- Able to lift up-to 60 lbs & work in outdoor inclement

Driver – Front End (Full-time)
2 Shifts Available
- Schedule and Hours: Morning 5:00am to 5:00pm
- Salary Range: $31.50/hour
- Supplemental Pay: Overtime available. $1/hour safety driving bonus (after 3-month probation).
Duties and Responsibilities
The Duties below include but are not limited to the following:

- Drives the front-end truck or rear-load truck along designated commercial routes to collect solid waste and transport to the landfill or transfer station for disposal.
- Open container enclosures or gates to access bins. When needed, roll 4 yard bins and/or 96 gallon totes into position for dumping

- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
- Keep logs on work and issues using RTA and computer software
- Maintain company owned equipment and keep tools in neat and proper condition
