Overview

The Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in shaping our brand identity and ensuring visual consistency across all marketing channels. This role will involve designing digital and print materials, supporting content creation for social media and the web, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver visually appealing, on-brand designs for the U-Pak Group of Companies, which includes U-Pak, Emerald, Traxxside, Kerry Caven, and MCC.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation:

• Brand Consistency: Ensure brand consistency by adhering to established style guidelines and contributing to brand assets, such as templates, icons, and typography styles.
• Design and produce a variety of materials including brochures, flyers, advertisements, social media graphics, e-blast templates and presentations.
• Develop Visual Content: Create engaging graphics, illustrations, and layouts for digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, website assets, and advertisements.

Social Media Support:

• Work closely with the Marketing Specialist to create visually appealing social media content and graphics that drive engagement and resonate with target audiences.

Collaborative Work:

• Work closely with the Marketing Specialist to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions.
• Collaborate with copywriters, photographers, and other creatives to produce cohesive and effective marketing materials.

Digital & Multimedia Design:

• Create and edit multimedia content, including videos and animations, for use in marketing campaigns and digital platforms.

Website and UX Design:

• Assist in designing website assets, landing pages, and user interface elements to enhance the user experience and support web marketing objectives.

Photography and Editing:

• Assist with photo editing, retouching, and creating image assets that enhance brand storytelling and visual impact.

Project Management:

• Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and the final product aligns with the project specifications.
• Coordinate with external vendors, such as printers, to ensure the quality and accuracy of printed materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

A Route Supervisor with U-Pak is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. To perform this role successfully, you must be able to manage multiple duties within the following key areas. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required:

Employee Management

• – Set and monitor productivity, service and safety targets for each route and driver
• – Plan, distribute, monitor and follow-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced to company standards and agreements
• – Morning roll-out of drivers ensuring pre-trips are conducted accurately and routing questions are addressed
• – Conducts weekly safety meetings to address key safety items and recent incidents
• – Manage end of day check in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety and equipment issues
• – Monitor driver and labourer tire and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring drivers do not exceed limits established by regulatory agencies (e.g., 60-hour rule)
• – Promotes a cooperative atmosphere. Resolves employee relations issues
• – Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities, coordinating daily operational needs with Maintenance team

Safety

• – Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with U-Pak policies and Occupational Safety and Health standards
• – Conducts root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining
• – Ensures that drivers comply with tests and training required by regulatory agencies
• – Conduct monthly ride-along observation evaluations with drivers providing coaching and feedback on safe working procedures and efficient processes

2 Shifts Available

• – Schedule and Hours: Morning 5:00am to 5:00pm
• – Salary Range: $31.50/hour
• – Supplemental Pay: Overtime available. $1/hour safety driving bonus (after 3-month probation).

Duties and Responsibilities

The Duties below include but are not limited to the following:

• – Perform daily pre & post-trip inspections of assigned equipment. Document condition and submit the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR)
• – Drives the front-end truck or rear-load truck along designated commercial routes to collect solid waste and transport to the landfill or transfer station for disposal.
• – Open container enclosures or gates to access bins.  When needed, roll 4 yard bins and/or 96 gallon totes into position for dumping
• – Safely operate vehicle in accordance with U-Pak rules, Ministry of Transportation requirements on commercial designated routes adhering to Occupational Health & Safety regulations and all local, provincial and federal laws at all times
• – Clean-up loose trash off truck and/or ground around truck and container that spills during dumping process to maintain clean customer site and safety along roads and highways
• – Clear waste from the packer blade and truck body on each landfill or transfer station run to ensure safe & productive equipment operation
• – Partner and communicate with Dispatch & Route Supervisor to improve efficiencies, provide excellent customer service, identify unsafe situations or improvement opportunities
• – Participate in scheduled training, briefings and meetings required by U-Pak or supervisors
• – Utilize on-board electronic ticket system (FleetMind) to follow workflow, record work completion and service interruptions such as breakdowns or blocked bins
• – Follow route assignments and ensuring route completion each day and complete all documentation at check out for end of route
• – Notify Route Supervisor immediately of any incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage
• – Courteously interact with customers, co-workers and the public throughout the day
• – Maintain and submit daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report (DVIR)
• – Perform all duties as scheduled by the Route Supervisor or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer requirements

Purpose

U-Pak Disposals is seeking a Driver Trainer for our Etobicoke site at 15 Tidemore Avenue. This position is responsible for the day-to-day coaching and training of drivers, ensuring safe and timely collection for our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

A Driver Trainer with U-Pak is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. To perform this role successfully, you must be able to manage multiple duties within the following key areas. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Training Management

• – Preparing and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• – Promote an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
• – Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• – Instruct and monitor employees in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• – Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• – Encourage and monitor the progress of employees and communicate these to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
• – Assure that students meet all skill/course outcomes as represented in the training program guidelines.
• – Communicate productive, appropriate, and honest feedback to the employee.
• – Provide remediation coaching/training.
• – Inform Environmental Health and Safety Manager of employee issues such as: behavioral, academic, or personal.
• – Foster safety first behaviors, confidence, and culture.
• – Organize and prepare all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.

Safety

• – Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with U-Pak policies, procedures and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• – Actively promote and exhibit safe behaviours.
• – Ensures that drivers understand and completed testing and training required by policy, procedures, and regulations.
• – Conduct ride-along observation evaluations with drivers providing coaching and feedback on safe working procedures and efficient processes.
• – Acknowledge safe actions and behaviours in employees and communicate positive reinforcement.

Administrative

• – Ensure training documentation is completed, reviewed, and filed in a timely consistent manner.
• – Maintain detailed and accurate employee training notation/information.
• – Review and audit documentation related to employees completion of training program.
• – Assist with data collection and review to assess performance and training techniques.

3 Shifts Available

Shift #1 – Afternoon shift – 1pm to 1am – Tuesday to Saturday

Shift #2 – Afternoon shift – 1pm to 1am – Sunday to Thursday

Shift #3 – Night shift – 5pm to 5am – Monday to Friday

Salary Range

• – Starts $30.50/hour

Supplemental Pay

• – Overtime available. $1/hour safety driving bonus (after 3-month probation)

The Mechanic role is what helps keep the mechanic shop running. U-Pak is looking for someone who is dedicated, trustworthy and willing to learn. When it comes to the Waste industry, THERE’S ALWAYS GARBAGE and there will always be work, hence we have the ability to offer overtime pay. Times have changed, dealerships can be monotonous whereas UPak has a wide range of equipment to learn on and make the days go by feeling like you have learned and accomplished something. We mostly run Freightliners and Mack’s along with various yellow iron including CAT 950m loaders, excavators, backhoes and multiple forklifts. We are constantly expanding our fleet expanding within our forward thinking company. This is a job for applicants who want to increase their work experience in the heavy equipment industry and pave their way to becoming a fully licensed mechanic. For candidates that show dedication and eagerness to learn, U-Pak will help candidates to continue to obtain their certificate through schooling and sponsorship.

• – Work with a fleet of over 150 vehicles and equipment including trucks, loaders, forklift, etc.
• – Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
• – Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
• – Maintain current PM’s and schedule future maintenance sessions
• – Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
• – Keep logs on work and issues using RTA and computer software
• – Maintain company owned equipment and keep tools in neat and proper condition
• – Assist in conducting pre and post vehicle inspections of equipment
• – Reporting any safety or repair issues to the shop supervisor
• – Follow and maintain all safety measures to according to U-Pak company policy and procedures
• – Courteous interaction with fellow employees and supervisors.
• – Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Must Have

• – 310T License
• – Up-to-Date Diagnostic Skills (After Treatment, Computer Software, JPro, TechTool, etc.)
• – 2 Years Proven Supervisor Experience
• – 5 Years Heavy Equipment Hydraulic Experience
