Overview

The Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in shaping our brand identity and ensuring visual consistency across all marketing channels. This role will involve designing digital and print materials, supporting content creation for social media and the web, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver visually appealing, on-brand designs for the U-Pak Group of Companies, which includes U-Pak, Emerald, Traxxside, Kerry Caven, and MCC.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation:

Brand Consistency: Ensure brand consistency by adhering to established style guidelines and contributing to brand assets, such as templates, icons, and typography styles.
Design and produce a variety of materials including brochures, flyers, advertisements, social media graphics, e-blast templates and presentations.
Develop Visual Content: Create engaging graphics, illustrations, and layouts for digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, website assets, and advertisements.

Social Media Support:

Work closely with the Marketing Specialist to create visually appealing social media content and graphics that drive engagement and resonate with target audiences.

Collaborative Work:

Collaborate with copywriters, photographers, and other creatives to produce cohesive and effective marketing materials.

Digital & Multimedia Design:

Create and edit multimedia content, including videos and animations, for use in marketing campaigns and digital platforms.

Website and UX Design:

Assist in designing website assets, landing pages, and user interface elements to enhance the user experience and support web marketing objectives.

Photography and Editing:

Assist with photo editing, retouching, and creating image assets that enhance brand storytelling and visual impact.

Project Management:

Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and the final product aligns with the project specifications.
Coordinate with external vendors, such as printers, to ensure the quality and accuracy of printed materials.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and software to continuously improve design quality and efficiency.
Propose new ideas and creative concepts to enhance the company’s visual communication efforts.

Event Support

Event Coordination: Assist the Marketing Specialist with event planning and logistics.
Promotional Material Preparation: Support the creation and distribution of event related promotional materials, including brochures, sell sheets, email announcements, and social media posts, to maximize event visibility.
Engage with Attendees to Enhance Brand Awareness: Interact with event attendees, answer customer inquiries, and actively represent the U-Pak Group of Companies to foster positive connections and increase brand recognition.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and other design software.
Experience with WordPress is an asset.
Experience with multimedia design, including video editing and animation, is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work.

Route Supervisor – Tractor Trailer

Duties and Responsibilities

A Route Supervisor with U-Pak is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. To perform this role successfully, you must be able to manage multiple duties within the following key areas. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required:

Employee Management

– Set and monitor productivity, service and safety targets for each route and driver
– Plan, distribute, monitor and follow-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced to company standards and agreements
– Morning roll-out of drivers ensuring pre-trips are conducted accurately and routing questions are addressed
– Conducts weekly safety meetings to address key safety items and recent incidents
– Manage end of day check in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety and equipment issues
– Monitor driver and labourer tire and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring drivers do not exceed limits established by regulatory agencies (e.g., 60-hour rule)
– Promotes a cooperative atmosphere. Resolves employee relations issues
– Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities, coordinating daily operational needs with Maintenance team

Safety

– Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with U-Pak policies and Occupational Safety and Health standards
– Conducts root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining
– Ensures that drivers comply with tests and training required by regulatory agencies
– Conduct monthly ride-along observation evaluations with drivers providing coaching and feedback on safe working procedures and efficient processes

Customer Service

– Ensure errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved
– Daily communication with dispatch regarding service issues/completion of services
– Visit customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety or service issues – seeking service alternatives where appropriate
– Document problem fixes and provide instructions to dispatch or maintenance

Administrative

– Review weekly demand/volume for routes – determine potential gains from re-routing and recommend re-routes to the dispatch team
– Conduct quarterly employee performance reviews, provides feedback, approves/schedules time off
– Review and audit documentation related to route operations on a daily basis (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets)
– Assist with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs

Recruitment

– Recruit, interview, and recommend new drivers for hire
– Retrain, coach, and develop existing drivers

Skills and Qualifications

Required: 2-5 years experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations

Driver – Front End (Full-time)

2 Shifts Available

– Schedule and Hours: Morning 5:00am to 5:00pm

Duties and Responsibilities

The Duties below include but are not limited to the following:

– Perform daily pre & post-trip inspections of assigned equipment. Document condition and submit the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR)
– Drives the front-end truck or rear-load truck along designated commercial routes to collect solid waste and transport to the landfill or transfer station for disposal.
– Open container enclosures or gates to access bins. When needed, roll 4 yard bins and/or 96 gallon totes into position for dumping
– Safely operate vehicle in accordance with U-Pak rules, Ministry of Transportation requirements on commercial designated routes adhering to Occupational Health & Safety regulations and all local, provincial and federal laws at all times
– Clean-up loose trash off truck and/or ground around truck and container that spills during dumping process to maintain clean customer site and safety along roads and highways
– Clear waste from the packer blade and truck body on each landfill or transfer station run to ensure safe & productive equipment operation
– Partner and communicate with Dispatch & Route Supervisor to improve efficiencies, provide excellent customer service, identify unsafe situations or improvement opportunities
– Participate in scheduled training, briefings and meetings required by U-Pak or supervisors
– Utilize on-board electronic ticket system (FleetMind) to follow workflow, record work completion and service interruptions such as breakdowns or blocked bins
– Follow route assignments and ensuring route completion each day and complete all documentation at check out for end of route
– Notify Route Supervisor immediately of any incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage

Purpose

Training Management

– Preparing and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.

Supervisor – Heavy Equipment Mechanic

2 Shifts Available

Shift #1 – Morning shift – 6am to 3pm – Monday to Friday

Shift #2 – Afternoon shift – 3pm to 11:30pm – Monday to Friday

Salary Range

– Starting at $38

Must Have

– 310T License
– Up-to-Date Diagnostic Skills (After Treatment, Computer Software, JPro, TechTool, etc.)
– 2 Years Proven Supervisor Experience
– 5 Years Heavy Equipment Hydraulic Experience
– Waste Industry Experience Required

Duties and Responsibilities

– Supervise a team of mechanics and mechanic apprentices
– Help teach and guide other technicians while performing diagnostics and repairs
– Work in a fast-paced environment while troubleshooting equipment issues
– Plan and schedule work orders to align with shop priorities and preventative maintenance programs
– Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
– Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues
– Point of Contact for drivers and administration with respect to equipment issues and issue resolution
